Gym goers complete almost 50-mile walk to support woman who lost legs to meningitis
['Beth Oliver']
Glasgow Times | News
The walk, which took place on August 1, was organised by members of F45 Glasgow West End to support Seyda Oates, 27, who had both of her legs amputated below the knee after contracting bacterial meningitis just days before her 21st birthday.
"Whenever it became unbearable, I reminded myself that I was walking for someone who couldn’t, even if she wanted to.
The walk from Vinicombe Street in Glasgow to Princes Street in Edinburgh, completed in a single day, was undertaken as a way to honour Seyda's spirit and raise funds for cosmetic prosthetic legs.
Anyone wishing to support Seyda's journey can donate via: https://tinyurl.com/35uh3k6c.
Every contribution, no matter the size, brings Seyda one step closer to receiving her cosmetic prosthetic legs and reclaiming the confidence and independence her illness took away.
