Although not a total eclipse, it will be the most significant solar event visible from the UK since 1999. The best spots in and around Glasgow include Cathkin Braes, the Queen’s Park flagpole, Kelvingrove Park, and Hamiltonhill Claypits. The last solar eclipse of this scale visible from the UK was in August 1999. After 2026, the UK will not see another total solar eclipse until 2090, and that will favour south-west England.
