The Caledonian Sleeper, already known for its overnight journeys between Glasgow and London, could one day continue its route beyond the UK and into continental Europe. Stephen Flynn, cabinet secretary for economy, tourism and transport, said: "We are committed to exploring the potential for a direct Caledonian Sleeper service to mainland Europe, and I am pleased that this work is now underway." (Image: PA)A high-level feasibility study will look into the practical, technical and commercial requirements for the service, with findings expected later this year. Currently, the Caledonian Sleeper connects London Euston and Birmingham International with various Scottish destinations including Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Inverness and Fort William. Transport Scotland, ScotRail and Caledonian Sleeper representatives will be involved in the feasibility study.
