Strand Releasing has acquired North American rights to Bruno Santamaria Razo’s debut feature “Six Months in a Pink and Blue Building,” the Mexican coming-of-age drama that premiered at Critics’ Week at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.
Earlier this year, “Six Months in a Pink and Blue Building” won four awards in the Films in Progress section at Cinélatino Toulouse.
Strand plans to release the film in North America in spring 2027.
Producers Haddad and Quiñónez said they had been searching for the right North American distributor since the film’s Cannes premiere.
Based in Culver City, Strand Releasing is headed by Gerrans and Marcus Hu, with a current slate including Yashaddai Owen’s “Jimmy,” Brydie O’Connor’s “Barbara Forever” and the 4K restoration re-release of Gregg Araki’s “Mysterious Skin.”
