Charges laid in fatal Wilmot crash over long weekend

A young Kitchener driver is facing several charges, including dangerous operation causing death, following a fatal crash in Wilmot Township.
On Saturday afternoon of the August long weekend police were called to a two-vehicle crash at Bridge Street and Diamond Road, about 10 minutes south of New Hamburg.
Police said a 70-year-old woman from Wilmot Township was pronounced dead at the scene.
In the other vehicle, a Kitchener driver and three passengers, one of whom was sent to an out-of-region hospital in life-threatening condition.
A 24-year-old Kitchener man has since been arrested and charged with dangerous operation causing death and three counts of dangerous operation causing bodily harm.
