The Alliance for Substance Abuse Progress in Bartholomew County is now accepting applications for grants from the county’s share of opioid settlement funds. Magen Cherry, executive director of ASAP, explains that the grants can be provided to eligible organizations working to address the opioid crisis. She says that they must support practical, measurable solutions for prevention, treatment, recovery, and other community needs related to the crisis. Applicants must present projects that meet the guidelines outlined in the National Opioid Settlement. According to the alliance, the grants are made on behalf of the Bartholomew County Substance Abuse Advisory and Accountability Committee and the Substance Abuse Public Funding Board.
