Norwegian, the low cost airline, is unhappy with the long passport control queues their passengers have experienced over the summer at Copenhagen Airport, and doesn't rule out prioritising Billund Airport over Copenhagen Airport moving forwards. In an interview with Danish newspaper, Finans, Neergaard said she wouldn’t rule out Norwegian prioritising its presence at Billund Airport, located in Central Jutland, rather than Copenhagen Airport in 2027. The traffic manager at Copenhagen Airport, Samuel Rude, has acknowledged the criticism and said he takes it very seriously. AdvertisementThe long queues at passport control come as a result of the EU's updated digital border control system, known as the EES system. Earlier this year Copenhagen Airport received similar criticism from SAS, Scandinavian Airlines.
