“For more than four decades, National Night Out has brought our neighbors and local police officers together to focus on what matters most: building safe, thriving communities,” said Governor Abigail Spanberger.
Governor Spanberger was joined by Secretary of Public Safety and Homeland Security Stanley Meador, state and local leaders, and police officers and first responders.
“National Night Out is a reminder that community safety begins with strong relationships,” said Secretary Meador.
National Night Out is an annual community-building campaign that promotes police-community partnerships and neighborhood camaraderie, with communities across Virginia celebrating.
Established in 1984, the annual event is held in cities and towns nationwide on the first Tuesday of August.
