SOUTH BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) – Police in South Burlington say someone is impersonating officers and calling residents to demand payment for failing to appear for jury duty. Police say the caller sounded like a man and claimed to be a sergeant with the South Burlington police. The department received two recent reports of the scam calls, which it is investigating. Police say they will never call or email asking for money. If you get a call like this, they say don’t give the caller any personal information, hang up and contact the police.
