Nick Bolton, chief executive of Ordnance Survey, said: "This year marked the 225th anniversary of our first map, and today, OS continues to innovate to meet the evolving needs of the nation. Ordnance Survey’s core mapping database, the National Geographic Database (NGD), also saw significant growth, with usage rising by more than 30 per cent. The database now holds more than 600 million location features and is updated 30,000 times daily. In the consumer market, the OS Maps app grew to 536,000 subscribers, up six per cent. Ordnance Survey also acquired full ownership of Dennis Maps, reaffirming its commitment to producing paper maps for the public.
