Marvel Rivals Creative Director, Guangyun Chen, has revealed in a video detailing the game’s upcoming Season 9.5 changes that the superhero title will see a reduction in the game’s file size across all versions, with the PS5 edition being slashed by 15GB. In season 9.5, we are implementing a massive texture compression overhaul. Note: Because we are completely repackaging these assets, the initial Season 9.5 update will be larger than usual, but the final install size will be much lighter. Marvel Rivals was released for PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X/S in December 2024, and NetEase confirmed in February 2025 that it had reached 40 million players worldwide.
