A suspect in a Darien home invasion was arrested after an almost eight-hour standoff with law enforcement in Homer Glen on Tuesday. The Will County Sheriff’s Office announced about midnight Tuesday that the suspect was in custody. “The investigation is ongoing, and there will be police activity in the area,” the sheriff’s office said in the announcement. A shelter-in-place order for residents living on Maverick Trail in Homer Glen was lifted about 10:30 p.m. as a barricade situation remained with the suspect. Deputies from the Will County Sheriff’s Office and the DuPage County Sheriff’s Office were on scene in the 13200 block of Maverick Trail in Homer Glen since about 4 p.m., the sheriff’s office said.
