Earlier this year, Atherton was awarded £500,000 through the Pride in Place Impact programme, which is aimed at delivering visible improvements to local communities and strengthening social infrastructure. The remaining funding is expected to be directed towards supporting local community organisations, sports groups, and improvements to play provision in Atherton. Council leaders are now seeking feedback from businesses and residents before final decisions are made on how the money should be spent. Businesses are being encouraged to take part in a survey which will help shape the plans and could ultimately determine which projects receive funding.
