Thousands of South African social grant beneficiaries are running out of time to replace their SASSA gold cards, with Postbank confirming that the 31 August deadline will not be extended. However, the replacement only affects beneficiaries who use their SASSA gold cards to withdraw cash or pay for goods. If your grant is paid directly into your personal bank account, you do not need to replace your card. ADVERTISEMENTOnly beneficiaries who still use a SASSA gold card to access their grant money need to switch to a Postbank black card. The system will ask for their location before sending an SMS with the nearest card replacement sites.
