Dr. Ginni McDonald filed the verified complaint July 31 in U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Arkansas, Northern Division, naming the Batesville School District and Board President Scott Fredericks, in his individual and official capacities, as defendants.
§ 1983, alleges violations of McDonald’s Fourteenth Amendment due process rights stemming from her suspension and termination following a January 2026 incident in a district preschool classroom.
The lawsuit alleges surveillance footage and other investigative materials were not fully disclosed before her termination hearing, preventing her from fully preparing her defense.
Dr. McDonald issues the following statement:“I began my career in education because someone believed in me before I believed in myself.
Dr. McDonald remains confident in the facts and the integrity of her service to the Batesville School District.
