Ewan McCulloch, chief stakeholder officer at Border to Coast Pensions Partnership, began the 1,300km journey from Carlisle with backing from the Cumbria Pension Fund.
His 10-day route aims to raise funds for several good causes and visits each of the 18 partner pension fund areas whose investments are managed by Border to Coast.
"Watchtree is a charity that means a great deal to many members of our team, and we're delighted to help raise awareness and support for the Watchtower Project.
As part of the challenge, Cumbria Pension Fund is raising funds for the Watchtower Project at Watchtree Nature Reserve.
Donations can be made via Cumbria Pension Fund’s fundraising page.
