Abbot Hall Bowling Club in Kendal secured a small festival grant from the Kendal Town Council in June to help fund its annual Alexander Cup Festival - which took place in late July. The club itself, a public Crown Green bowling club, welcomes bowlers of all ages, abilities and backgrounds. Meanwhile, Denise Noble, of Abbot Hall Bowling Club, thanked the town council for the grant. Abbot Hall Bowling Club is also active in league play, club competitions and social events, and regularly invites community groups to use the green. Abbot Hall Bowling Club is currently on the look out for new members, it said.
