AdvertisementSHELBOURNE Park is getting new sports facilities with works started on the popular park in the Northside of the city. Speaking to the Limerick Post, Cllr Olivia O’Sullivan revealed that works are now underway at Shelbourne Park on the installation of a basketball court, petanque pistes, pickleball, and table tennis facilities. The Fine Gael councillor continued: “This is a wonderful, popular local park with playing pitches for local soccer, perimeter pathway, outdoor gym equipment, and a playground that has to serve a very large local community. In past years I have worked with the Council to have a wheelchair-accessible roundabout installed here to keep upgrading the playground. The Shelbourne Park additional sports facilities are being installed by Limerick Sports Partnership and Limerick City and County Council.
