THE NAGKAISA labor coalition plans to intervene in a petition before a Navotas court challenging the P85 daily minimum wage increase in Metro Manila. The Alliance of Philippine Fishing Federations filed the petition seeking declaratory relief against Wage Order No. The Navotas court instead scheduled a clarificatory hearing for Aug. 6. NAGKAISA said the case could affect more than three million workers and undermine the country’s wage-setting system. It plans to seek dismissal of the petition, citing Article 126 of the Labor Code.
