Thousands of people gathered on Tuesday, Aug. 4, at multiple National Night Out events across Nassau County, where residents, law enforcement and elected officials unite to strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the community.
National Night Out is a nationwide event held on the first Tuesday of August.
Local events were held in Bethpage, Glen Cove, Hicksville, Hempstead, Manhasset, Massapequa, Port Washington, Westbury and Williston Park.
The event’s intent is to provide a venue for the community to interact with local law enforcement, first responders and businesses, with the goal of strengthening police-community partnerships and fostering safer, more caring communities.
In addition to interacting with local law enforcement, the event is also a night of fun.
