Oyster Bay Town officials honored veterans and veteran volunteers at the Town of Oyster Bay’s Salute to America held at John Burns Park.
Recipients were recognized as Veteran Volunteer of the Year and Friend of a Veteran Volunteer.
Recipients of the Town’s Veterans Volunteer of the Year Award included Robert James Ryan of Syosset and Jason Lederer of Syosset.
Through Cooking for LI Veterans, he helps veterans who can no longer cook for themselves.
The Friend of a Veteran Volunteer Award was presented to Thomas Alberda of Massapequa.
