The Long Island Children’s Museum will host its annual celebration of National Honeybee Day on Saturday, Aug. 15 from 11 a.m.-2 p.m.
The honey tasting will sample local Long Island honeys, including honey produced by LICM’s own pollinators from the observation hive.
The National Honeybee Day celebration is part of LICM’s longstanding initiative to preserve and protect honeybees, which includes the Name a Honeybee campaign that launched several years ago.
“I think the museum has a really robust history of showing how we can intertwine with nature,” Siler said.
Siler said she hopes that attending the National Honeybee Day celebration will help children and families understand how essential honeybees are to the Long Island ecosystem.
