The Nallavagu project, built across the Nallavagu stream at Sirgapur, became surplus on Wednesday morning following heavy rains in its catchment area over the last few days.
The project, which has a storage capacity of 746 MCFt, irrigates over 6,500 acres of ayacut in Sangareddy and Kamareddy districts.
The Pocharam dam and Ghanpur anicut in Medak district continued to overflow due to continuous rains.
