Investigators are now examining the possible involvement of senior PSC officials and whether external or political influence played any role. The Kerala PSC has previously maintained that the discrepancies stemmed from issues in its On-Screen Marking (OSM) system and ordered a re-evaluation, but the SIT believes the pattern of omissions suggests deliberate manipulation. Officials probing the case reportedly suspect that senior PSC functionaries may have knowingly facilitated the manipulation or failed to prevent it. The matter also reached the Kerala State Information Commission after candidates alleged that the PSC was reluctant to disclose answer sheets, interview marks and related recruitment records. At present, the SIT is continuing to scrutinise evaluation records, digital logs and internal PSC documents before seeking prosecution sanction.
