Meta Faces Tough QuestionsThe controversy began when Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Facebook video unexpectedly became inaccessible for several hours, prompting widespread attention online.
According to Meta, the removal was inadvertent and resulted from a technical error rather than any content moderation decision.
“The content was removed in error and has since been restored,” the company said, adding that it regretted the disruption.
Any such change would require action under India’s legal and regulatory framework, particularly Section 79 of the Information Technology Act, 2000.
