To mark the milestone, the Great Yarmouth branch is hosting a weekend of events on August 8 and 9 to honour its long history of worship, support, and outreach in the town. The celebrations will begin with a 140th Corps Anniversary Celebration Concert featuring Great Yarmouth Brass at 7pm on Saturday, August 8. All events will be held at The Salvation Army hall on Tolhouse Street and are open to everyone. Territorial Envoy Alison James, who leads The Salvation Army in Great Yarmouth, said: "Reaching 140 years is a wonderful opportunity to give thanks for all that God has done through The Salvation Army in Great Yarmouth. "For generations, this church has been a place of hope, friendship, and practical support for people across our community."
