Waxham Sands Holiday Park has issued a warning to beachgoers to look out for adders in the dunes. The snakes are often found along sand dunes and in long grass, particularly during warmer weather. Dog owners are being asked to take extra care and keep pets on leads, especially near long grass or dense vegetation. The spokesman continued: "While bites are uncommon, adders may defend themselves if they feel threatened or disturbed." If a dog is bitten, owners are advised to keep the animal calm and still, and seek veterinary advice immediately.
