At Rochdale Coroners' Court on Tuesday (August 4), an inquest was opened into the death of Sithandazile Nkomo, who was originally from Zimbabwe. PCO Skelton said Ms Nkomo's car "collided" with another vehicle, leaving her car "overturned" with Ms Nkomo "initially trapped". The court heard Ms Nkomo was then released and received medical attention, however, she suffered a cardiac arrest and died at the scene. Assistant coroner for Manchester North, Michael Salt, said enquiries were taking place and a full road traffic report was still being awaited. Mr Salt said he was satisfied an inquest was necessary and opened proceedings but adjourned the full inquest.
