The Security Assistance Group-Ukraine (SAG-U) and the NATO Security Assistance and Training for Ukraine (NSATU) programme are set to undergo a process of reorganisation. United States European Command (USEUCOM) is to be responsible for overseeing the reorganisation of SAG-U and NSATU. The aim of this action is to “increase the efficiency and effectiveness” of assistance to Ukraine. This, in turn, is expected to facilitate the “release” of the United States from this region. The 45th and 47th President of the United States has clearly restricted Washington’s support for Kyiv since January 2025.
