The Carroll County Sheriff’s Office is expected to assume responsibility for law enforcement services within the City of Carrollton within approximately 30 to 35 days after the Carrollton City Council voted to disband the Carrollton Police Department. Additional Carroll County deputies may respond to emergencies requiring multiple units without additional cost to the city. As part of the agreement, the city will provide two law enforcement vehicles for use by the Sheriff’s Office. The vehicles will be re-marked with Carroll County Sheriff’s Office graphics before entering county service. Following that transition, all municipal law enforcement services will be provided by the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office in accordance with Missouri law.
