Saraswati Gao, NET Correspondent, Arunachal PradeshThe District Magistrate of Papum Pare has ordered an immediate ban on illegal earth cutting in and around Donyi Polo Airport, Hollongi, and along National Highway-415 under Papum Pare (Rural) jurisdiction. The ban has been imposed due to increasing incidents of landslides, mudslides, and road blockages, and damage to NH-415 linked to unauthorized hill cutting during the monsoon. The administration cautioned that strict legal action will be taken against violators under relevant provisions of law. Citizens have been urged to report any illegal hill cutting to help safeguard human lives, public infrastructure, and the environment. The DM also called on the public to extend full cooperation to preserve the area’s fragile ecology and ensure road safety during the rainy season.
