Florida biotechnology company Dyadic International, trading as Dyadic Applied BioSolutions, has entered a development and commercial license agreement with an unnamed European biotechnology company to develop additional precision-fermented dairy proteins. Under the terms, Dyadic is eligible for development and commercial payments, licensing-related revenues, and other economic participation tied to successful commercialization. The proteins will be produced using Dapibus, Dyadic’s proprietary precision fermentation platform, which relies on microbial fermentation processes and existing industrial fermentation infrastructure to manufacture recombinant food proteins and enzymes. Building out a licensing modelThe agreement adds to a dairy portfolio Dyadic has assembled through separate partnerships. These include recombinant bovine chymosin, a cheese-making enzyme now being commercialized through Denmark-based Inzymes ApS, and recombinant bovine alpha-lactalbumin, under development with BRIG BIO of Wageningen, the Netherlands.
