Clichés and more clichés — or once-witty utterances that, with repetition after repetition, have lost their power to interest or amaze.
But, the other reason that clichés get old and over-used is that, more often than not, they just perfectly fit the situation.
The only options are getting a new watch-a-ma-call-it, getting your old watch-a-ma-call-it fixed or learning to live with a broken watch-a-ma-call-it.
Or as kids today would say, “you’re cooked.”
