The Kuala Lumpur High Court issued an injunction restraining former senator Daljit Singh from repeating the defamatory statements against MRCB executive vice-chairman Salim Fateh Din.
PETALING JAYA : The Kuala Lumpur High Court has ordered a former senator to pay Salim Fateh Din a total of RM275,000 after ruling in favour of the MRCB executive vice-chairman in two separate suits.
Justice Roz Mawar Rozain ordered Daljit Singh to pay RM100,000 in damages after finding him liable for defamation and RM75,000 in costs.
She also issued an injunction on July 30, restraining Daljit from repeating the defamatory statements against Salim.
In a separate suit also heard before Roz Mawar, Daljit, the People’s Progressive Party treasurer general, was ordered to repay an outstanding loan of RM100,000 to Salim.
