According to Galaxy Backbone, the regulatory instrument establishes Nigeria’s national guidelines and governance framework for cloud adoption, cloud services and supporting digital infrastructure. ADVERTISEMENTThe framework also sets out requirements for data classification, data sovereignty, cloud security, risk management and investment promotion, providing a unified approach to cloud governance across the country. Galaxy Backbone said the initiative would help strengthen digital trust, safeguard national data assets and support the Federal Government’s drive towards a secure and resilient digital economy. The National Sovereign Cloud Regulatory Instrument is expected to guide the adoption of cloud technologies by public and private sector organisations while enhancing the security, resilience and governance of Nigeria’s digital infrastructure.
