Members of Melvins, Butthole Surfers and more have formed a new supergroup, Gatta Morta. The quartet comprises Buzz Osborne (singer, guitarist and founding member of Melvins), bassist JD Pinkus (Butthole Surfers), Melvins drummer Coady Willis, and guitarist/vocalist Clinton Jacob (Mr. Phylzzz). “I had the idea for Gatta Morta while touring last fall. When I was asked to be a part of Gatta Morta, I was speechless, but I was 100 per cent ready for it.” Butthole Surfers, meanwhile, finally dropped their shelved 1998 LP ‘After The Astronaut’ this summer – marking their first album in 25 years.
