Hunter08/05/26The City of Cedar Rapids has released crime statistics for July, and the numbers are generally good. There’s been only one homicide this year, down from two last year and well below the five-year average of 5. Aggravated Assault, Burglary, Theft from Vehicle, and Theft of Vehicle also showed significant reductions from the year so far in 2025. Stiil, that’s well below the five-year average of 49. Their method of operation was simple-attempting to open doors or reach through windows of unsecured vehicles and grabbing items of value.
