Amazon posts Q2 growth driven strongly by groceries

In its last earnings call, Amazon reported a 20 percent increase in year-over-year net sales, totaling $200.3 billion.
In North America, the company is also growing, posting a 16 percent uptick in Q2, sitting at $116.2 billion.
What is news is the increasing importance of the groceries and perishable category to the company’s success.
Likewise, same-day orders that include perishables are more lucrative for the site, as they tend to have, on average, three more items than those orders without this kind of product.
