A secular young woman who wants a partner who shares her worldview is watching that pond shrink from the other side. Children of less religious, distressed mothers did not. A religious mother prays for her children, which is itself a form of sustained attention most kids never get from any other source. For generations, mothers have been the main channel through which faith and meaning pass from one age to the next. To endure and thrive as a civilization, it may need religious women even more.
