The Boston Philharmonic Orchestra (BPO) and its affiliate, the Boston Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (BPYO), have announced their 48th and final season, after which both ensembles will permanently cease operations in June 2027. Founder and conductor Benjamin Zander will lead this final farewell season. Following this, the ensembles’ activities will be transferred to the newly established digital legacy project, the Benjamin Zander Center. That venue, as described in a press release, will function as “the headquarters for Benjamin Zander’s artistic and educational endeavors, housing the Boston Philharmonic’s digital media holdings, which expand access to his renowned Interpretation Classes and other educational materials.”
