German Airways (ZQ, Cologne/Bonn) has completed the acquisition and financing of five E190 regional jets as planned, marking a key step in the carrier's fleet expansion programme, according to a market disclosure from parent company Kolibri Beteiligung GmbH.
German Airways said the acquisition advances the group's previously announced strategy to expand and modernise its regional aircraft fleet.
The ACMI/charter specialist currently operates a total of nine E190s, all but one of them leased from Azorra.
German Airways currently wet leases six E190s to KLM Royal Dutch Airlines' regional subsidiary KLM Cityhopper and two to Condor.
