The Washington boys’ and girls’ soccer teams were both represented at the Iowa High School Soccer Coaches Association Senior Showcase back in June. On the boys’ side, midfielder Ben Kronlage competed for the East. Kronlage spoke with KCII about his experience, “To be honest, the competition there, every guy giving their 100 percent for 10-20 minutes, then you’re getting subbed out for a new rotation, but those guys especially in the midfield, you’re expected to win the ball 100% of the time… It was so fun just to get out there and keep playing.” On the girls’ side, the Demons had two picked for the team, with defender Isobel Murphy and midfielder Angeline Anderson selected for the East. The boys finished 6-9-2 this past season, while the girls finished at 10-7.
