After a learning year in 2026, the Columbus Wildcat softball team hopes to claw back toward a .500 record in 2027.
The Wildcats finished 1-25 overall, 1-13 in the SEISC-North this summer.
Head coach Dustin Traylor says he hopes to get more girls out next year, “I look forward to next year, hopefully we get some more kids out, boost our numbers a bit, get our JV program going again.
I have high hopes, I had high hopes this year too, unfortunately this year it got derailed a bit, but I mean we’re going to be right at it again next year ready to go.”
The Wildcats graduate offensive leaders in Audrey Hoback and Daniela Diaz, but return other key players such as Ellie Sanders, Ivy Dennler, and Iris Garza, among other underclassmen.
