The BC Wildfire Service said an ignition operation at the Pear Lake wildfire could not go ahead as planned on Tuesday due to poor visibility and smoky conditions. A new fire was discovered on Tuesday morning west of the Pear Lake fire and east of Jesmond Road. The BC Wildfire Service says it will be completing a planned ignition to box in the northeast flank of the Pear Lake wildfire before winds through the area switch directions. There have been losses in the Clinton area, but the extent of the damage hasn’t yet been determined.
