[]

Over the past 33 hours, a tropical wave brought heavy showers and thunderstorms across much of Belize, with the southern and central regions most affected.
NEMO warns of a continued high risk of excessive rainfall this morning, with the possibility of localized flooding, gusty winds, and dangerous lightning.
A flood warning is currently in effect for the Sibun, Sittee, Golden Stream, Rio Grande, Moho, and Temash rivers, while a flash flood warning has been issued for watersheds off the eastern slopes of the Maya Mountains.
Forecasters expect some improvement in weather conditions later this week, with showers and thunderstorms continuing through Wednesday before easing and giving way to more sunshine from Thursday through Saturday.
