Disney is taking a step toward making Disney+ into something that looks a little more like a social media app. The company said on Wednesday that it had reached a global deal with TikTok to allow fan-created short-form videos based on Disney characters and franchises to appear inside the Disney+ streaming service. The videos will be tightly vetted by Disney — “thoughtfully curated” in its words — and will appear in Verts, a vertical video feed that debuted inside Disney+ this spring.
