Councillors Mark Anderson and Chris Moody for Bournemouth Town Council and Councillors Xena Dion, Mark White and Steve Hayes said during an informal discussion that BCP Council is “constantly blocking us”. The group said “We have no authority, no control, and all the responsibility for these town councils. BCP Council has said that service leaders have met with town council staff to discuss several matter including allotments, civic services and events. Similarly Poole Town Council wants to be able to own Poole Guildhall to use for meetings. “The reality is that, just like other town councils in the area, Bournemouth and Poole town councils are independent.
