Local seniors will soon benefit from a comprehensively upgraded Generations Room in Cecil Township thanks to a recently announced state grant award. According to Cecil Township Supervisor Cindy Fisher, who announced the award during a Monday evening meeting, $71,500 of new funding will allow the Cecil/McDonald Senior Center housed within the Generations Room at the Cecil Township Municipal Building to undergo a suite of renovations this fall. The room will close from early October through early November to allow the contractor to complete the necessary repairs. “These are exactly the kinds of local investments that make a real difference for our community,” Ortitay said in a statement. “Our seniors deserve a space that is safe, accessible and comfortable, and I was glad to help make that happen.”
