KARACHI — Relief for Schools students and teachers as Sindh government reversed its six-day school week decision, bringing back the Saturday holiday and returning educational institutions to 5-day academic routine after the summer break. Sindh Education Department confirmed that the previous directive requiring schools to remain open on Saturdays has been withdrawn. To ensure the academic calendar remains on track, schools will increase daily teaching hours by one additional hour during weekdays. Sindh Education Minister Syed Sardar Ali Shah had also confirmed that government schools would remain open on Saturdays. The authorities said extending weekday school timings would help maintain the required number of teaching hours without affecting students’ academic progress.
