NewsBy Arabella MilehamLondon independent merchant Friarwood Fine Wines and Spirits, which has been trading for nearly six decades, has been placed into administration. Although the store is now closed, its website assures customers that it would continue to ship orders already placed, with collection available from its Parsons Green store until the end of this week (7 August). The business was founded in 1967 by Peter Bowen as a London-based wholesaler, only later branching into retail from its Parsons Green office in 2001. He took over the business in February 2015, refreshing the branding and bringing a younger management team on board.
